Caffine ConLeche was an interesting project and interesting time all around. All good intentions and raw talent stepped on and bottled up and finally this outlet came along… with LOADS of coffee. Everyone was in a situation and working things out individually. In the process we all came to live at the same place as neighbors at the small apartments on Holly Street (between Raymond & Fair Oaks Ave.) in Pasadena, Ca. Since we were also all artists, and by chance just all happened to end up being neighbors, one person heard another’s jam sessions, and one heard one’s recording sessions and we’d hang out to see what was going on. We didn’t now what it was at first so we kind of eased into it, openly yet cautiously, each of us having been in projects in the past that had promise but kinda fizzled out just due to life and living it… and bills and all that “adult” crap going on, plus tat spot was one where we were all mainly just working and stacking bread to move on to better. Still, once in the studio it all clicked. The group was formed with Phil Phree (True Spitters camp), The Large Animal (Mikey), and little byrd. Later on, life being life, Saige Row came to live in the same place and was added to the group. There was another Mike who was an unofficial member who would come and hang out with us and jam as well… a very dope artist and carpenter. It was a java packed oasis from madness and stress and insanity. Once it hit, it was very smooth and invigorating. The name just kinda fit especially since we drank coffee before, during, and after every hangout and session. There were a few tracks in the videos here that were from other projects but kinda set aside for here if usable, so if you’ve noticed some ZCP or Jaiden Malone tags or anything like that, that’s why. Jaiden Malone, after all, is Saige Row and little byrd, so, we could share the wealth (of music). After a while, again, things got crazy and everyone went their ways, but these moments always will be golden. You’ll see in the videos at the bottom.

THE ALBUM “FIRST POP”… First Pop is a part of the process in refining coffee beans. Seemed fitting for a first installment as things were building and being worked on. i (byrdo) slapped it together from some new tracks that hadn’t been filed under any other project, and some other ones I liked I had shelved. If you’ve seen some of the titles/tracks elsewhere— that’s why. You can do that when you own all of your stuff. We were in the process of recording things but… life being life….
